Broader knowledge of Environmental LCA, life cycle costing and LCSA is an asset.Knowledge of Social LCA and Circular Economy indicators is an asset.Track record in project writing, management of projects and scientific publications.Working experience in international and interdisciplinary teams.Various years of experience in an RTO setting is an asset.

Previous experience in working with private companies and public authorities is an asset, especially with regard to LCA-related projects.

The candidate is expected to have at least 4-year experience in a research environment after completion of the PhD.

A PhD is considered an asset Education PhD in Engineering or Natural Science, specilalisation in Life Cycle Assessment is an asset.

In order to target the above-mentioned research topics, the applicant shall demonstrate proven knowledge and experience in the field of Sustainability Assessment, an excellent track record of scientific publications in highly respected journals as well as previous experience in working with industry.

Conduct and support high level scientific research that can be valorised.

Develop external collaborations, partnerships and networks.

Lead the funded projects as Principal investigator and further valorise the projects’ outcomes in terms of publications, workshops and other dissemination means.

Develop Research and Technology project proposals, targeting EU funding, national funding and collaborative industrial partnerships.

Thus, main tasks related to this position are: The research work shall lead to publications in top ranked journals and, at the same time, involve close collaborations with industry and public policy-makers, to foster socio-economic impacts. The applicant shall also develop research in the modelling of circular system, with particular attention to the end of life of products and materials and how open and closed loops can be effectively considered in sustainability assessments. Moreover, the integration into a life cycle sustainability assessment (covering also financial aspects), is a further part of the envisioned research work. To this respect, the researcher shall be involved in the Social Life Cycle Assessment field of research, participating to working groups and other initiatives at European level. The successful applicant will have to develop her/his own research stream in the field of sustainability assessment of circular system, with special emphasis on the assessment of the social dimension and of the positive environmental and human benefits generated by Circular Economy.
